Health: What actually works.

May 19, 2017

I have read a ton of books. I took four health classes plus food science before college, I then took biology courses. I also took nutrition courses online. I worked at Slimgenics where I was trained to help people through weight loss and was taught about supplements and nutrition, we reviewed the popular programs and the science behind them. We learned what worked and what didn’t and we were constantly testing each other to make sure we knew our stuff. I worked with nutritionists and dietitians. I did research on my own to make sure I was taught correctly. I’ve read anything from scientific journals to regular articles to blogs. I work for a company that offers legit scientific evidence that their products work. I am constantly reading labels and researching ingredients and learning about the human body.

So when I talk about things like calories, macros, detoxing, or fat loss, I am not just spitting out buzzwords from a clever marketing campaign.

There is an entire market out there for bogus, fake, and useless “diet” products that promise these amazing results that are unrealistic. The sad part is that they can be dangerous and they prey on people who are frustrated and looking for a quick fix.

The thing is, there isn’t a quick fix. If you want to be healthy or lose weight there’s only two things you can do: eat healthy and exercise!

Beyond these two main pieces of the puzzle there are supplements that can help, detoxes that can get you started, and tips to looking & feeling your best.

But I can assure you that wearing a wrap will not alone help you lose 30 pounds of fat. Diet pills alone will ruin your metabolism. Teas and laxatives will clean out your gut (of all the bad and all that’s good!)

All of these promise quick results. You will get a quick loss of weight (water) and you will gain it back….and when you’re ready to make an actual lifestyle change, having done these things will make your journey harder.

It’s a tough decision; try the quick fix (on average women spend 31 years dieting/men 28) or go for the long haul. It’s up to you but know that there are people out there who genuinely want to see you succeed and not just get you to buy a product!

Total health is more than just a physical transformation, it’s a process that involves a mental and spiritual shift.

If you are ready to embark on the change of your life contact me and we can decide the next steps you need to take to be ready for the journey!
